Week in Review: Groceries
Rich was kind enough to watch Nathan so I could do my "big" shopping trip at Jewel tonight. We are completely stocked up on meat/pasta/cereal so you won't see me buying those for awhile. (unless they are next to free!) We mostly needed some lunch-type items for Rich to take to work. Here's what I ended up with:
3 gallons of milk, 2 loaves of Sara Lee bread, 2 large boxes of Pop Tarts, 2 boxes of Eggo Waffles, 2 Hillshire Farm Hearty Slices lunchmeat, 1 box of Frito Lay pretzel singles packs, 1 box of Sun Chips singles pack, 2 large jars of Mt. Olive baby dill pickles, 2 boxes of State Farm Corndogs, 2 boxes of Wheat Thins (Sundried Tomato, very good!), 2 containers of Crystal Light Lemonade, 1 package of Oscar Meyer hot dogs, 1 package of Oscar Meyer cheese dogs, 1 bottle of Kraft Italian dressing, 1 bottle of Kraft Bacon/Ranch dressing, 25 Kool-aids, 2 packages of Oscar Meyer shaved lunchmeat, Kraft Cheese Slices and 2 70-ct. college ruled notebooks.
What was my total? $26.72 after tax AND I received a surprise $2 off my next order coupon from Kraft.(I might just use that for an early edition Sunday paper tomorrow for more coupons!) If I hadn't used coupons or hit their sales, my total would have been $117.46. So I saved 77% off my groceries plus earned $2. Not too shabby for one night's work!
I still have $13.28 to pick up more produce as I need it. We still have some for the next few days. Our neighbor just brought us 1/2 dzn. ears of corn tonight, too!
How did you do?
