Simple Steps: Week Six

For newbies, click here for prior postings.

I've decided to join the new habits with how I did the week before. With the baby getting closer, I'm getting less blogging time, trying to get those last minute things done.

So, with that said, here are the four new ones for Week Six:
1)Replace processed foods with whole grains.
2)Do a few minutes of crunches every day.
3)Maintain a clean car. (All of us with kids probably need this one!)
4)Dress smart and keep your closet organized.

Here were last week's with my updates:
5)Cut back on caffeine. -- I try to totally eliminate caffeine while pregnant, but every once in awhile I give in to a chocolate craving!

6)Discover the benefits of yoga. -- The idea of yoga moves with this belly didn't appeal to me. I do have a Denise Austin pregnancy video that does yoga but I didn't work it in this week. The stretching may actually help!

7)Maintain a system to avoid mail piles. --Mail piles. Ugh! I am getting better at finding a system that works. I throw junk mail away right away. I lay Rich's mail by his spot at the dinner table. The bills get filed in our "budget binder." And everything else usually gets sorted. (magazines here. free samples there. etc.) I usually do this immediately after I bring the mail in. But on occasion, I just to just set it in a pile on the table until I can get to it.

8)Find daily serenity time. (Don't we all need this one?!) My "serenity" time comes at night when Nathan goes to bed. This is why you'll see a lot of postings at the end of the day! (That and I get "pregnancy insomnia" quite often!!)Blogging is my "fun" for right now. I do take time away to get in a TV show of mine (Grey's Anatomy and Army Wives) or to soak in a book. But I usually end up back on the computer.

Here are the ones from prior weeks:
9) Replace bad fats with good fats.
10) Dance to at least one song a day.
11) Maintain a clean and healthy fridge/freezer.
12) Clean and floss your teeth twice daily
13) Take a multi-vitamin everyday.
14) Be aware of posture and breathing.
15) Keep a clear desktop. (or computer desk!)
16) Make sure to cleanse and moisturize daily.
17) Keep a Daily Food Journal
18) Squeeze in some isometric exercises everyday.
19) Maintain an efficient laundry system.
20) Follow a daily to-do list.
21) Drink 8 cups of water a day.
22) Walk 20 minutes a day.
23) Clear out (clean) one drawer/cabinet/closet every week.
24) Save $2 a day or 1% of your weekly salary/allowance.

Hope you are working some good ones in!
