Week in Review: Shopping Trip
This definitely wasn't one of my best trips but every week we can't only spend $20 and come home with a table full. Sometimes, you have to pick up items that just plain cost a little bit! Here's what I got:
Wags
Gerber Toothbrush Kit for Nathan
1 gallon of whole milk
1 book for Nathan (Will be a present from the baby)
1 prescription
Total = $0. I used a giftcard I got when RRs didn't print.
While I was there, I transferred over the prescription and got a $25 giftcard. While we were waiting, they gave Nathan a FREE coloring book and I snagged a FREE Diabetes recipe book. I'll keep the coupons and my Mom can use the recipes for my Dad.
CVS
3 bags of Snickers
3 bags of M&Ms (all for Halloween trick-o-treaters)
Little Swimmers diapers
4 bags of CVS brand pretzel sticks/twists
Sunbeam Hamburger Buns
Sunbeam Bread
Total = $8.69
I couldn't get over the number of CRTs that printed! They definitely were trying to get me back into the store. (Like I need help!) :)
Jewel
2 bags of Doritos
2 Barilla pasta sauces
1 box of Barilla pasta
1 jar of Smuckers grape jelly
1 jar of Smuckers strawberry jelly
2 lbs of bananas
1 McCormick Vanilla Extract (Why are spices so expensive!!)
5 lbs of apples
Total = $22.71
I can turn in the receipt and $2.50 to get the three Smuckers recipe books here, if I want. I honestly just needed jelly! :)
Babies R Us
1 package of 7th Generation diapers (These are expensive but FABULOUS for nighttime!)
3 packs of hangers for the baby's room
2 fork & spoon sets
Total = $20.78
Target
Nathan and I set up a baby registry. I plan on using it as a checklist for myself and a Christmas list for others. I earned a $20 Target Gift Card for signing up for one. I also signed up because they tend to send you baby coupons/discounts/offers.
Overall, I spent $52.18. While I was out, I earned a $25 Wags GC and a $20 Target GC. It was a pretty productive day! I did manage to save $46.30 by using coupons/sales. Funny, how I still feel I could have done better!!
