New Blog: Glowing Gazelles
For those of you whom haven't noticed in my sidebar, I've added a new blog called Glowing Gazelles. (I explain the name on the blog.)
After receiving encouraging direct emails and comments from readers, I've decided to log my journey towards entering my first 5K race. Please note this isn't a blog of running advice, but just a blog to follow along on the journey. I'll add things that work for me and don't. I'll add some great tips and tools that I find. Etc. Etc. I just don't want anyone to take my postings as "expert advice." I know very little about the proper aspects of running. I'm just an average person setting out to have some fun and to meet a lifelong dream of running in a race. (For those of you whom have been running for awhile, feel free to leave your comments and advice for us newbies! And let me know if you'd like to do a guest posting!)
I'm hoping that some of you will want to join in on the journey to train for a 5K. Who knows, maybe you'll even join me in my first race! (Just don't expect it to be any time soon! I'm not planning on entering one until Fall 2009 or Spring 2010.) :) I'm taking my journey slow so I don't get injured along the way. That and I have two precious little kids to take care of that come first. So the journey won't be a fast one. But like they say:
Slow and Steady Wins the Race!
Thank you to all the readers whom have sent me such lovely emails and comments! I cannot thank you enough for the encouragement and shared energy! I look forward to sharing this journey with you!
Here's hoping more of you will join in! If you're not a runner...they have 5K walks, too! Why not commit 2009 to getting healthy and starting a fun new hobby!
Side Note: The blog is in it's beginning phases. It's nothing pretty but as I find more time I'll spruce it up a bit! :)
