One of Those Days

Kaydi finally went down for a nap this morning and Nathan asked if he could "waterplay." (This is where I put a little water in the kitchen sink and let him wash his play dishes.) So I'm thinking, this is going to be great--I grabbed my laptop and sat at the kitchen table to find some deals online. Less than 10 minutes later, I hear the water running and before I can look up and say, "Nathan, shut the water off," the little guy has grabbed the kitchen sprayer and has turned it into a sprinkler. I'm fighting my way through the spraying water trying to grab it while he's spraying down the window, cupboards, my bread and popcorn makers, my crockpot and the floor. (If only I could have captured his look of glee on film!)

I finally get to him and he's giving me the look of fear like "Oh boy, Mommy's so mad!" It's all I can do to not bust out laughing but those of you with toddlers know that it only encourages them! So instead I say "Waterplay's over for today!!" and grab some towels and wipe up the flood. By the time I'm done, Kaydi's crying and I'm still soaked! Ugh...it's going to be one of those days! :)

Kids...you gotta love them!
