When I was contacted by TJ Maxx/Marshalls to see if I wanted to check out their stores, I was excited since I hadn't shopped there in awhile. We used to go there all the time when I was a kid, scoping out the clearance area for any amazing designer clothes for cheap. I was curious to see if they were still the same.
So I headed off to TJ Maxx with my $25 Gift Card in hand, that they gave me, and set on a mission to make the most of it. It seems like when it comes to clothing, $25 never seems to go very far. But I have to tell you that you won't find that a problem here. The only problem I had was trying to decide which ones to get. I teased with my hubby that maybe shopping there wasn't such a good idea because now I'm going to go there all-the-time! :) (They do have more than clothing. They have jewelry, shoes, handbags, toys, food and kitchen items.)
While I was shopping, I kept thinking how someone with a tight budget might have great luck in finding a great gift for someone there. So my first mission was to head to the clearance racks to find the impossible---a pair of dressy pants that fit. I'm 5'2" and those things just never fit right. Not only did I find one, but they were only $10! They feel like they were made just for me. Original Retail Price? $34.99.
Next, I walked over by the bedding. I was looking through their bedspreads and then it caught my eye....this oversized throw. I was hoping it was a good price---$10! Original Retail? $25. You might be able to figure out why I liked it so much. :) I been debating going back for a different one for a gift. They are the perfect size and thickness for cuddling.
So $5 left to spend. I'm was sure there wasn't anything for that price. Wrong. I found these super fuzzy socks from Anne Klein for $4.99. Original Retail $10. Perfect! My $25 was spent. I got dress pants, an oversized throw (big enough for two people!) and 2 pair of fuzzy name brand socks. Now granted, tax wasn't included but I came close! :)
It then occurred to me...I wonder what their pajamas are like. I needed to get my MIL a present. There were three that I couldn't choose from. I finally went these soft blue ones for $19.99. Original Retail Price? $48! I was heading over to the checkouts with my purchases and my eye caught them. Oh, how I tried to avoid the shoe dept. But it beckoned me. And now I knew why.
Nike Sister Series Zoom Training Shoes for $39.99!! No Way! These retail for $110. They were the only ones in the store and my size. That never happens! They are Nike+ enabled to help track your running. I was in need of a new pair so I got them. It will save me a lot of money later. So here are those purchases:

I just wanted to show you what you might be able to find there and the prices. But one of you will be able to check it out for yourself. I have one $25 Gift Card that can be used at either TJ Maxx or Marshall's that I'm giving away to one lucky reader.
