Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle: Recipe Clip

It's been awhile since I posted one of these!

A few weeks back, I bought Kaydi a pair of sandals for summer. When I was taking them off the clip, I thought to myself, "I know this can be used for something." Later that day when I was cooking, I was annoyed how my recipe sheet kept getting spilt on while I was doing prep work. I then had my use for my shoe hanger...a recipe clip!

Let me tell you, this thing works perfect! It's exactly at my eye level, my recipes don't get spilt on and it hides away great in my cabinet, not taking up much space.

So if you have one of these, don't throw it out! It might just make your baking world a little easier!

Hoping you've found new ways to cut back on waste this week!

Reduce, Re-use, Recycle: Coffee & Frosting Containers

Here are this week's containers: Folgers plastic coffee can and Betty Crocker Frosting can.

Previously, I've shared with you a lid toy you can make from the Folgers can and a personalized crayon holder for the frosting container. (By the way, I've found that the Folgers can is the perfect size for those jumbo crayons, too.)

But this time, we made this:

The frosting can sits inside the coffee can, allowing drainage for the plant! I wrote up how Nathan and I made it here.

The great part is, if we ever decide we don't want the planter anymore, everything comes off and we can recycle them, just like we would have had we not found a re-use for them.

Reduce, Re-use, Recycle: Coffee Mate Containers

I really love the ideas you all come up with for re-using things. So here's one for this week: Coffee Mate Containers.

I saw on a Baby DIY show that they took these and made bowling pins out of them. Now, they used Easter grass for hair and decorated them, etc. But I didn't need that additional mess in our house and I wanted to keep ours simple. So you can see what Nathan and I did for a fun little project today.

Now's your turn...got any creative ideas for how to re-use Coffee Mate Containers? Leave us a comment sharing your creativity!
