CG's Giveaways: Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover & $5 B&N GC

**Sorry but the giveaway has ended. Check back Tuesday for my next "Books Bloom Imagination giveaway.**

Well, this is the first of this month's "Books Bloom Imagination" giveaways. The plan is to bloom your love for books right along with the flowers blooming outside!

And what better book to kick-off this month than my all-time favorite, Dave Ramsey's The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness.

I have blogged over and over again about how much this book has changed our lives. I couldn't even tell you where we'd be today if we hadn't woken up and gotten on the right path to financial freedom--free of debt that is! We are now debt-free except for our house. Eight months ago, we had credit card debt and TWO vehicle payments. I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing it feels each time we get another debt paid off and earn a little bit more of a sense of security.

So I'd love to be able to give one of my readers a chance to read this amazing book and hopefully hear back to how it changed your life, too. (And for those of you that don't win, I encourage you to check it out at your local library!)

I am also giving the winner a $5 Barnes and Noble Gift Card to pick up a book for your child. (niece, nephew, friend's kid, etc.) Reading time with a child might turn out to be your favorite time of the day, too!

Since I'm dying for everyone to get bit by the reading bug, I'm adding an additional way to enter this month. And that is...

1)Make a trip to your library!! If you don't have a card, then sign-up! Leave a comment saying that you've done this with your name & email/blog address.

Then the other ways to enter apply:

2) Simply leave a comment with your first name and email/blog address. Please check that your email address is correct before submitting.

3) For an additional entry, write a posting on your blog about the giveaway and link back to the giveaway. If you don't have a blog, you can "tweet" about the giveaway on twitter. Make sure that you leave another comment letting me know that you did this. (Be sure to leave your email/blog address again.)

4) There's a total of three entries allowed per person.

Click here for basic giveaway info.

The giveaway ends on Friday, April 10th at Noon, CST.

Good Luck!

I am reading the free download of Jean Chatsky's The Difference right now, so this book would be a great complement.

  4. I go to my library every single week (sometimes twice a week). I love that I can put interesting books/dvds/cds etc on hold via the Internet and just run into pick them up (it's a lifesaver with a little one around!)

I've been trying to check out this book for several months but it's under such heavy requests that I'm still "in line."

  9. My grandkids and I go to the library at least once a week. Each child chooses five books they want to read and a dvd to watch. Then grandma chooses her books. We have read to the kids since they were born. They love it!

I take my kiddos to the public library every Wednesday for the "Time for Tots Class." They love it, and it gives me an hour at the library to myself while they are in a FREE class learning to love books :)

  23. I have been an avid visitor of the library since very young. I've introduced all of my children very young and they've all had cards since they could write their names. It's paid off in their love of reading. Not to include their fantastic resources.

  30. This would be a great read - I hear SO much about it. Usually when we go to the library, we spend most of our time in the kids' section :-) (it's awfully hard to browse in the adult stacks with 2 kids in tow! I've turned around to find half a row of books carefully taken out and placed in a pile on the floor! :-/ Oops!). Here's a tip for parents - figure out what book you (the grown-up!) want BEFORE you go (use the online catalog!) and either write down the call number so you can take the kids straight there and back out again, or, if your library has a request service, request the book and it'll be pulled off the shelf and waiting for you at the checkout desk! :-) Of course, it takes away the fun of browsing, but frankly, browsing is only fun on your own. :-) Trust me. :-) And yes, we've been there this week. And no, I didn't take my own advice - it was a spur of the moment trip so I didn't get a book for myself this time. :-(

I haven't been to the library in months, but I bought a book at the thrift store and half way through I realized that it was missing 20 pages, so I went to the library to check if they had it.
