So I had planned on doing a "Gardening Grows Your Wallet" giveaway theme for the month of May but the more I think things through, the more I realize my plate is way too full to do a big garden this year (and it's so hard to weed with a baby!) I think I'm going to stick to just a few container plants of tomatoes and one or two other vegetables. (For those of you wanting to follow a great gardening series, The Thrifty Mama has been putting up some great posts on her garden here. If any of you have some gardening postings to share now or in the future, I'll be more than happy to share in a posting for my readers.)
While I love to save $$, I have to be realistic on my time limitations and big gardening can take up some bigger chunks of time. This is going to be a busy summer for us. I've got a 5 month old that I'm going to start on solids (which I hope to make myself!) I've got a 2yr old that I need to potty train and move from a crib to a "big boy" bed--which then leads to my little one going from a bassinet to a crib. I'm also preparing some activities for teaching Nathan more pre-school type lessons. I volunteered to do a couponing class for a nearby library. And I'm also training for a 5K Run! Whew! I'm tired already! :)
So anyway, I plan on switching May to "Growing Your Wallet." I'll share some money-saving tips beyond couponing with you and have some money-saving giveaways each week. I'll be using some giftcards I earned from Swagbucks for these. But I think going forward, I'm going to allow myself to put a little $$ in my own pocket to use for our Christmas so I'm going to be keeping more of my bloggy profits. (I've yet to do this! So far, I've put them into giveaways for my readers and picking up items to donate for the needy!)
I'm thinking the new theme will work out better for everyone since it's not so narrow in theme. I also found a cool challenge on another blog that I plan on participating in for May and I'll be sharing that with you later. Enough reading for now! :)

ugh! gardening is impossible with a new baby. Last year my yard was horrendous and my garden was none existant. Anything that WAS half way decent was eaten down by the rabbits! I'm hoping this year is a little better.
