Trying New Things: Arnold Select Sandwich Thins

This is a random series that I do. These are just items that I pick up when I have extra wiggle room in my grocery budget and not a review for a free product I've received. It's just me being "adventurous" and sharing my findings. :)

Since there are only two of us that eat hamburgers with buns in our house, I often find that I either have to plan two burger meals in a week or find another creative way to use the buns during the week. When I was shopping for hamburger buns one day, I saw these Arnold Sandwich Thins and I wondered how they'd work as a bun.

That night, we made Turkey Burgers and I used these. They worked perfect! What I liked about them is that you actually were able to taste your burger and weren't biting into a big hunk of bread. I haven't tried them with a regular hamburger yet, but I plan on it soon.

During the rest of the week, I used these in place of English Muffins and Bagels, toasting them and adding a little peanut butter or cream cheese. I also made...sandwiches with them! Imagine that! :) And to my surprise and delight, Nathan loved snacking on them just plain!

I was so excited to see that the September 25th issue of All You had a $1/1 coupon on page 95. I just picked up an issue at Wal-Mart this week, as my subscription ran out and I didn't get it renewed in time.

So if you've seen these and wanted to try them, check out your All You Magazine. I've added these to my permanent shopping list for two reasons: 1) I liked how they taste and 2) I like that they multi-task as a hamburger bun, sandwich maker, english muffin or bagel. I think when I picked mine up, they were on sale for $2.69, in case you need a price reference.

Here's hoping you enjoy them, too! And remember, if you see something that you'd like to try in the store, don't be afraid to pick them up every once in awhile. It could just turn into a new favorite!

  2. These things are great and I was so glad to see a coupon for them. Plus they are healthy too. Another fun thing is to use them to make mini pizzas! Yum!

  3. These are now on my list too, because we hardly ever use a full loaf of bread and they taste pretty good for the amount of fiber in them. They go on sale occasionally here for $2.50.

  4. They are delicious, and only 1 Weight Watcher point for the whole sandwich. Costco also sells them for less.

  5. I just looked at these in the store last night although I didn't buy them since I didn't have a coupon and no wiggle room for me. Besides people tend to stare when I wiggle. *wink* Thanks for the review, I'm always more willing to try something when someone else has good things to say.

  7. My son loves these too! He usually doesn't like bread, but will eat these. I emailed the company and told them about how satisfied with the product and they sent me an envelope full of coupons for these!

  8. I loved the Sandwich Thins too. In Oklahoma they are sold under the OROWHEAT brand. Reminded me of Pita bread.

  9. My daughter left some of these at my house when she was visiting. I tried them and like them a lot. I live alone so a loaf of bread is always going to waste. These are perfect for all kinds of sanwiches,

  10. I have a coupon and honestly didn't even think about using them because I didn't have any bright ideas on how to use them. Thanks, Jaycie.
