CG's Giveaways: Mini-Organizational Kit
If there's one thing that I could definitely use in my life right now, it is a little organization! (I'm sure you can all say the same thing about your lives, right?)
Well, I tried to put together a little kit that fit into the "Growing Your Wallet" and the "31 Ways to Save On Your Grocery Budget" series for this month. And this is the prize that I came up with...a mini-organizational kit. It includes:
~A Magnetic Day-of-the-Week Board that can be used to display your Weekly Menu Plan
~A Little Journal to help you start off some form of a Price Book
~A Magnetic Note-pad that can be used as a shopping list or low inventory list
~A pack of 8 blank note cards that can be used for future thank-you cards, etc.
~And...a little 13 pocket file folder that clasps shut that can be used as a coupon organizer or a rebate/receipt holder.
If this little kit interests you, here's how you can enter:
1) Leave a comment and tell me your best organization tip that you've found that works. Be sure to leave your first name & email/blog address.
Then the other normal ways to enter apply: (Make sure you leave a separate comment for these, too!)
2) Simply leave a comment with your first name and email/blog address. This is a bonus entry! :) Please check that your email address is correct before submitting. (This should be a separate comment than the one above.)
3) For an additional entry, write a posting on your blog about the giveaway and link back to the giveaway. If you don't have a blog, you can "tweet" about the giveaway on twitter. Make sure that you leave another comment letting me know that you did this. (Be sure to leave your email/blog address again.)
4) There's a total of three entries allowed per person.
Click here for basic giveaway info.
The giveaway will end on Monday, May 11th, 2009 at 11:59PM, CST.
Good Luck!

Hi Jaycie,
ReplyDeleteIt's Precious! My best organizational tip is to always pick up every room of the house and put misaplaced items back where they belong, empty the garbage, and make sure all the dishes are done before you go to bed at night. No one wants to get up to a messy house in the morning!
My favorite organizing tip was to put a small board in my shower to jot my ideas down. That is the one place where I am not interupted and can concetrate. I write my daily to do list and when I'm finished showering, detach and take with me!
ReplyDeleteHi! My only tip for organization is use what you have! Use empty wipe boxes, coffee cans, cereal boxes. You don't need to spend a lot to organize, unless you can! I am a sucker for organizational products, LOL, but I have learned the hard(eg,BROKE) way to use what you have!

We are a family of 6 and I was frantic everyday as to what to fix for lunch and supper. So to organize myself...I made a calendar and spent about 15 minutes and planned out meals for the month!

Hi! What a great giveaway...I am always looking for new ways to stay organized! One of my favorite ways to stay organized is to keep a little pad of paper with me where ever I am, that way if I think of something I need to do or buy I can jot it down and I won't drive myself crazy later trying to remember what it was.

ReplyDeleteHi there! Awesome giveaway! My best tip is to have a basket in every room of the house for things that don't really belong in there. At the end of the day, I pick up the baskets and place all the items back where they belong! Saves time, and maes things neater during the day as well!

My best tip is to make sure you are always returning items to their proper place when you are done using them.
ReplyDeletemy best tip for being organized is the carry a small notebook. I think I get more done when I have a to-do list than without one. I tend to be very scattered otherwise.
ReplyDeleteLove this giveaway! I print out a menu planner online that has a shopping list right on it, so while I plan my menu I can jot down what I need to get from the store. Thanks!

I always decide what to wear the next day and lay it out on my ironing board - saves a lot of time and stress every morning. I do the same for the kids too.

What a wonderful organizing kit! One of my organizing tips is to use a blank calandar sheet for a month of dinners, but plan week by week. I make pizza every Fri, so that is the first thing I write in on the Friday dates. When I think of things during the week that I would like to have the following week or later, I just start filling in spaces as I think of them. Sometimes I get a whole week almost filled by the time I make a grocery list, I only have a couple more spaces/days of dinners to fill in and I just go with whatever is on sale at the store.

I have a large baskets in the house one for each person...at the end of the day I make everyone grab 20 things and put them EXACTLY WHERE THEY BELONG!! I have to monitor the kids but hey they are helping!

My best organization tip is to do a little bit everyday. Things get so overwhelming when put off, but if you just do some here and there it doesn't become a big deal (i.e., hassle!).

I keep a list on the side of my fridge and have it split in three categories: Aldi's, Walmart, Sam's. That way when we are out of something I add it under the spot of where I can get it for the best price. michellehurl@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThese are super cute! My orginazational tip is for my coupons. I punch holes in my inserts date and label them. That way I can find them easy!

Hi Jaycie,
ReplyDeleteI like to whole punch my smart source and all of my inserts and put them in a binder. This way coupons never get lost and I can always cut them up before going grocery shopping. It works great for me!
Thanks!
Handle a piece of paper once - file it, read it, or throw it away.
ReplyDeleteI keep my coupons organized in envelopes right now, labeled by item type. Another great way to keep organized is to store seasonal clothing under the bed in storage units to prevent clutter in your closet.

my best organizational tip is that i sort through the mail every day when it comes in. i then throw away all the junk mail immediately, and put the bills in one place to pay them at a later date, and put other items that need to be handled in a decorative file box i keep on the bar just for that purpose.

I always keep a magnetic notepad on the refrigerator and jot done items I need to buy next shopping trip. an80slady6886 ay sbcglobal dot net
ReplyDeleteI pay most bills online. I have a calendar book- write down the due date and the bill in the dated square. When paid, I write down the confirmation number. Also, for birthdays I have a book with the months on 1 page and a pocket to keep cards I buy ahead.
ReplyDeleteI love your site! Thanks for all your work...I have been following it for a few months now.
ReplyDeleteAndrea Taylor -
ReplyDeleteMy best advice...Only touch the mail once! Open it and sort it. We found before this rule (and when we don't follow it) we were buried in mound of paper.

I made bins to contain some of my children's activities. I have a bin for match games and flashcards, one for art supplies (no one wants a 3 year old wandering off with markers) and one for special books and activities. They are kept up high so they cannot be pillaged through without supervision!

All those discount cards you get, grocery store, video rental, beauty store, etc. I was always losing those cards and you do save a lot of money with them. My best friend came up with a great idea. She hole punched them all with a single hole and stuck them on a basic key ring. It fits in my purse and they're all right there when I need them.
ReplyDeletelindsay.stixrud@yahoo.com
We keep the boxes shoes come in and take a photo of the shoe and stick it on the end of the box. That way they can all be stacked away and its easy to pick out which ones you need rather than sorting through dozens of boxes.
ReplyDeletedillon.sostrom@yahoo.com
The easiest organization tip I have to get one of those notepads with a magnet that gets attached to the fridge. And just train everyone in the house to write down when they've used the next to last of something. That way when you run out of random items like salt, its written down so you can get it the next time you're at the store.

Bonus entry, thanks. LiPen5@aol.com
ReplyDeletePut things away when they are first handled. You know the "never touvh things more than once rule". It really works when put into practice. Thanks LiPen5@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI set a timer for 5 minutes and "speed clean" each room for 5 minutes a piece. Anything that doesn't get done, I don't stress about, because I can actually get A LOT done in 5 minues per room.

Organizational tip: do a little bit every day. I tend to get overwhelmed by the sheer mass of everything I need to organize, but if I plan ahead just a little bit, I can set things up so I can organize for just a few minutes every day and suddenly realize I've finished a project I thought was a goner!

Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteA newbie to couponing/getting all the deals... my eyes are bigger than my organizing right now... I can't stop trying to make more and more deals! My table is a mess and my recycling bin is full of the remnants of cutting up coupons. I have more food, toiletries and miscellaneous items in my house than I can find space for, but I love it!
Some extra organizing items would be great. Thanks for a great site to look at and learn :)

Hi, my favorite organizing tip would be to keep 6 different colored pocket folders for each member of my family, putting their name on top and filing everything that pertains to that person that comes in such as report cards, invitations, sports schedules, etc.that way when they ask where is? I can just go to folder and look. Dyan at luvthedeals AT GMAIL DOT COM

Hi! My best organizational tip is not to go too crazy by organizing everything! Life is meant to be a little chaotic! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteorganize by the aisles in the store you use the most
ReplyDeleteDo things one at a time.
ReplyDeleteMy best organizational tip has to be my totes. I have one downstairs and another upstairs where I put items that are out of place. At the end of the day, I make sure that I unload those totes, putting the items back in their home. It works great with my kids too!
ReplyDeleteI try to do a little at a time so it's not overwelming
ReplyDeleteI find that when I set a timer to clean an area I get more done. I often set it for 15 min. for a room or other chore.(Should use a timer for computer use also. I spend a lot of time on it before doing housework!)
ReplyDeletemjagalla09@yahoo.com
Unfortunatly, I am not very organized (you should see my desk right now LOL!), which is why I would LOVE to have this set! The best organizational tip I have is to make sure everything has a home, and other members of your family also know where it is. I can't tell you how many times I try to keep a certain item somewhere and someone else keeps moving it because they don't think it goes there arggg!
ReplyDeleteMy best tip is to create a 'landing pad' for the all the mail. That way it doesn't end up in all other places getting misplaced. I came up with this because our mail was ending up in all different places (bathroom???) and bills would get missed!
ReplyDeletebonus entry - added you to my blog

My favorite organizing tip is to open, sort, and recycle the mail immediately upon bringing it into the house. I also pay as many bills as possible online.
